    The French Doctor Pierre Dukan first developed his diet in the 1970s and later wrote about it in his book ‘Je ne sais pas maigrir’ (I do not know how to lose weight) in the year 2000. The Royal Kate Middleton is one of many celebs to endorse this rather strict low carb high protein diet which prescribes just 72 foods in 4 phases. Some health professionals believe this diet is unbalanced and it is similar to the Keto diet but a little more regimented. The 4 phases, in brief, are the Attack phase in which you can eat 72 high protein foods with no carbs over 5 to 10 days. The 2nd Cruise phase slowly introduces carbs with 28 types of vegetable. The 3rd stage includes some dairy and you are allowed 2 freedom meals of your choice. The 4th stage is interesting in that it promotes a healthy living mentality. In the 4th stage you are encouraged to walk 20 minutes a day, and dedicate a day to just protein with three tablespoons of oat bran.
